The listings below are as they appear on the search results.
As you can see the premium Listing has a banner, web link and a highlighted background.
Both listings have maroon coloured links to the directory Details page entry, contact profile with PM (private messaging) and a web link (premium listing).
The banner on the premium listing is also a link to the directory Details page. The Details page is a page solely for the individual directory listing. It has no irritating ads or google non(ad)sense. 'Trades and Materials.com' do not wish to accept that type of advertising.
There will be a maximum of five Trade Listing entries per postcode locale, that is the first 2-4 characters of the postcode. The potential client will only get relevant Listings to their postcode or a surrounding postcode if they wish to choose one, (they may be on a postcode border for example).
Business's can lose a Listing, (see Directory 'Terms of Service'), which a business is required to accept prior to submitting to the directory. For this reason we accept a business Listing although the Search Results page has the 5 required Listings. A Listing will appear in the Search Results if a top 5 business loses a place. See 'Terms and Conditions' on registration at the foot of the Directory Entry form. The Listing moves up by entry date, (oldest entry first).
'Trades and Materials.com' do not wish to see our users having to scroll over pages and pages to find what they are looking for, (we all know how irritating that can be).
It is still worth a business submitting to the directory, although a Search Result page has the 5 required Listings, as our users can also post jobs Live to the site and a business that enter the directory will have access to this bulletin board and contact the job post directly. Also as mentioned above a business can move into the 5 Search Results.The directory Details page is always Live, it can be found by a general site search in the top right corner of any page view on this site, or by any Search Engine, (Google, Yahoo, Ask, MSN (bing) etc). It can also be used as a link for a web page, (if a business or trade does not have a website for example), in any other web directory that allows a web link.
Why waste time? Get in now before the Search Results page gets 5 Listings for your postcode locale.
The example below is a screen-shot that is designed to fit into any screen resolution. The actual width of the Listing will expand to full page width in any browser. 'Trades and Materials.com' is using fluid templates so the Listing and Details page will fill the page width, (excluding the left navigation column).
If a Registered User is logged in the Listings and Details appear in a centre column, as the right column is used for registered access to administration and registered content. If a User has not registered and finds you in a Search there is no right column, the User therefore views the content in full page width minus the left column.
